The BAK N21700CX-65E is a rechargeable 21700 cylindrical lithium-ion cell for battery pack designs that need high capacity in a compact format. Its A/00 specification lists 6500mAh typical capacity, 6350mAh rated minimum capacity, and 3.5V nominal voltage. The specified maximum discharge current is 25.4A, with a 12.7A maximum charge current. MisenBattery supplies the BAK cell and supports custom pack integration, with charging, protection and thermal controls selected for the intended application.
BAK specifies 6500mAh typical capacity and 6350mAh rated minimum capacity when a fresh cell is charged and discharged by the standard methods at 25°C. The corresponding specified energy figures are 22.75Wh typical and 22.23Wh rated at 3.5V nominal voltage. Use the rated figure when a pack design needs a conservative cell-level capacity basis; actual delivered energy changes with load and temperature.
The N21700CX-65E is a sleeved, rechargeable 21700 cylindrical cell. BAK’s drawing gives a maximum diameter of 21.7mm and maximum height of 71.0mm with the sleeve, and the specification limits weight to 75g. These limits are useful when planning cell holders, pack spacing, welded connections, enclosure clearances and thermal paths. Confirm the dimensions of production samples before locking mechanical tooling.
The manufacturer lists 25.4A as the maximum discharge current. Its rate test at 25±2°C specifies a 4C discharge capacity of at least 85% relative to its 1C result under the stated test procedure. These are different types of figures: one is a current limit and the other is a capacity test criterion. Validate voltage sag, heat and runtime at the intended pack load.
The standard charging method uses 3.175A constant current to 4.20V, followed by constant voltage until current falls to 100mA at 25±2°C. BAK separately specifies a 12.7A maximum charging current. A charger should use the normal 4.20V voltage limit and temperature-dependent current controls. The 4.25V upper safety boundary is not a routine charge target and operation above 4.20V harms performance.
The specified operating temperature ranges are 0 to 45°C for charging and −30 to 60°C for discharging; BAK says the current and voltage profiles across temperatures must be defined by the manufacturer. In its 25±2°C cycle-life test, the 501st cycle retains at least 80% of initial discharge capacity with 0.5C charging and 1C discharging. This result should be read with those exact test conditions.
BAK specifies AC internal resistance of no more than 8mΩ at 1kHz and a 3.40–3.60V shipment voltage range. The same voltage range is recommended for long-term storage, with time limits that depend on storage temperature. The sleeve marking includes the BAK logo, rated capacity and energy, grade and production identifiers, providing useful information for incoming inspection and matched-cell pack assembly.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies BAK N21700CX-65E bare cells and supports custom packs for portable power, mobility and industrial equipment where pack-level testing confirms suitability. Specify a compatible BMS, fusing, temperature sensing, welded interconnects, insulation and thermal and mechanical support; BAK prohibits direct soldering to the cell. Request applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS or UL documentation for the specific product and shipment scope. Safety test methods cited in the specification do not establish a product certification.
