21700-58E is a rechargeable 21700 lithium-ion cell with 5500 mAh nominal and minimum capacity and 3.6 V nominal voltage. The supplied A/02 specification includes ambient discharge operation down to −40°C, with temperature-dependent current limits and defined low-temperature capacity tests. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom battery pack evaluation for projects requiring confirmed cold-weather performance, appropriate charging controls and validated thermal and mechanical integration.
Both nominal and minimum capacity are specified as 5500 mAh, despite the 58E product designation. Capacity acceptance uses 2.75 A CC-CV charging to 4.2 V with 110 mA termination, followed by 1.1 A discharge to 2.5 V. Nominal energy is approximately 19.8 Wh, calculated from 3.6 V and 5.5 Ah.
After standard charging, cells rest for 24 hours at each cold test temperature. The specified capacity ratios are at least 80% at −20 ± 2°C and 5.5 A, 75% at −30 ± 2°C and 2.75 A, and 60% at −40 ± 2°C and 1.1 A. All use a 2.0 V test endpoint, distinct from normal operation.
Maximum continuous discharge reaches 11 A only at surface temperatures from 0°C to below 35°C and reduces to 1.1 A from −40°C to below −30°C. Maximum continuous charge reaches 3.85 A from 15°C to below 45°C, reducing to 0.55 A from −10°C to below 5°C. Ambient limits also apply when setting protection thresholds.
The specification requires at least 70% of first-cycle discharge capacity at cycle 600. The test uses 2.75 A charging and 5.5 A discharging over 4.2–2.75 V at room temperature, with 550 mA charge termination. Each charge and discharge is followed by a 30-minute rest. This defined test differs from standard capacity measurement.
Diameter is 21.65 ± 0.2 mm and height is 70.95 ± 0.2 mm, with a maximum weight of 73 g. AC impedance is limited to 19 mΩ at 1000 Hz. These values support enclosure design and incoming inspection, with tolerances, terminal insulation, cell holders and welding access verified for the finished pack.
Storage is specified at −20 to +40°C for less than three months, or −20 to +20°C for three to twelve months, with 0–50% RH and no condensation. Long-term storage voltage is 3.5–3.7 V. FEB recommends validated resistance or laser welding and an internal cell temperature difference within 5°C during pack discharge.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies FEB cells and supports custom pack evaluation for industrial equipment and portable power projects, subject to application validation. Provide a compatible BMS, fuse protection, voltage and temperature sensing, validated resistance-welding or laser-welding processes, terminal insulation, cell spacing and suitable thermal and mechanical design. Direct soldering is prohibited. Confirm applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation for the specific cell, pack and shipment; certification status is not established by the supplied specification alone.
