FAQ

  • Q What is the difference between 32140 and 33140 battery cells?

    A

The main nominal size difference is diameter. A 32140 cylindrical cell is approximately 32 mm in diameter and 140 mm long, while a 33140 cell is approximately 33 mm in diameter and 140 mm long. The dimensions are naming conventions rather than guaranteed finished measurements. Check the actual cell drawing, terminal height, insulation and tolerances before designing a holder or battery pack.

  • Q Are 32140 and 33140 cylindrical battery cells interchangeable?

    A

Not necessarily. A 33140 cell is nominally 1 mm wider than a 32140 cell, so it may not fit the same holder or pack enclosure. Terminal style, chemistry, nominal voltage, capacity, and current capability may also differ. Before replacing one format with another, check the mechanical drawing, charger settings, battery management system and electrical requirements.

  • Q Which battery chemistries are offered in 32140 and 33140 cell formats?

    A

The range may include lithium iron phosphate or LFP, lithium titanate or LTO, and sodium-ion cells, depending on the specific manufacturer and model. Not all three chemistries are available in both sizes, and stock can change. Tell us your required cell size, voltage, discharge current and quantity so Misen Power can confirm suitable models and availability.

  • Q What are the nominal voltage and capacity of 32140 or 33140 cells?

    A

Nominal voltage and rated capacity depend on chemistry and cell model, not only the case size. LFP cells commonly have a nominal voltage near 3.2 V, and LTO cells are often around 2.3 V. Sodium-ion voltage varies by design. Capacity should be checked on each manufacturer's datasheet along with discharge test conditions, maximum charging voltage and operating limits.

  • Q How do LFP, LTO and sodium-ion batteries differ?

    A

LFP is often selected for thermal stability and long service life in energy storage applications. LTO can support fast charging, high power output and very long cycle life, generally at a lower nominal voltage. Some sodium-ion designs offer advantages in low-temperature use and material sourcing. Actual performance varies by model, so compare datasheets for capacity, charge rate, discharge current, temperature and cycle life.

  • Q How do I choose the discharge current for a 32140 or 33140 cell?

    A

Start with the equipment's normal operating current and the maximum current during start-up or short pulses. Check each candidate cell's rated continuous current, allowable pulse current and pulse duration, as well as temperature and voltage sag. Capacity in Ah does not define discharge capability. For battery packs, also check parallel-cell count, wiring, busbars, protection settings and thermal design.

  • Q Can 32140 and 33140 cells be used for energy storage and electric mobility?

    A

Depending on the selected model, these cylindrical cell formats may be suitable for stationary energy storage, industrial and backup power, low-speed electric vehicles, automated guided vehicles and custom OEM battery packs. Application suitability depends on chemistry, electrical ratings, mechanical installation, thermal conditions and system safety requirements. Confirm the chosen cell's specifications before committing to a design.

  • Q Do LFP, LTO and sodium-ion cells need different chargers or BMS settings?

    A

Yes. Different chemistries can have different charging limits, discharge cutoffs, balancing requirements and permitted temperature ranges. A charging profile or BMS designed for LFP should not automatically be used with LTO or sodium-ion cells. Set the pack configuration and protection thresholds according to the selected manufacturer's datasheet and qualified system engineering guidance.

  • Q Can Misen Power support custom 32140 or 33140 battery pack projects?

    A

Misen Power can discuss cell sourcing, model selection, samples, cell matching requirements and custom OEM battery projects. For a useful recommendation, share the desired pack voltage and capacity, continuous and peak current, available space, operating temperature, terminal preference and estimated order quantity. We can then check suitable cell models and the feasibility of additional pack integration support.

  • Q Can I order samples, and are datasheets, MSDS and UN38.3 documents available?

    A

Sample availability, minimum order quantity, lead time and pricing vary by exact model and inventory. Manufacturer datasheets, safety data sheets and UN38.3 transport test information may be available for particular products and batches, subject to confirmation. Please tell us the required cell model or specifications, quantity, delivery country and documents needed so we can check before quoting.
