The INR21700-50E is a rechargeable 21700-format lithium-ion cell manufactured by Hengdian Group DMEGC in Zhejiang, China. Its specification lists 3.7V nominal voltage, 5000mAh nominal capacity and 4900mAh minimum capacity; both capacity grades are measured at 0.2C. The cell is intended for integration into a properly designed battery pack. Finished-pack performance depends on cell configuration, protection settings, interconnects and operating conditions.
DMEGC specifies 5000mAh nominal capacity and 4900mAh minimum capacity when measured at 0.2C. These are separate capacity grades and should remain distinct when comparing cells or calculating a battery pack. Multiplying the nominal 3.7V by 5.0Ah gives approximately 18.5Wh per cell; usable energy varies with discharge rate, temperature and cut-off settings.
The manufacturer drawing gives a maximum diameter of 21.5mm and maximum height of 70.5mm, while the specified weight is below 74g. These figures help establish holder clearance, cell spacing and enclosure dimensions. The drawing also identifies a 3mm-diameter prohibited welding area at the center of the bottom terminal, which pack assembly plans must respect.
The listed maximum continuous discharge rate is 3C, equivalent to 15A using the 5000mAh nominal capacity. DMEGC marks this limit “not for cycle,” so the cycle-life results should not be applied to continuous 15A operation. The finished pack also needs current limits suited to its parallel-cell count, connections, temperature and protection design.
Standard charging at 25±2°C uses 0.5C constant current to 4.2V, then constant voltage until current falls to 0.05C. On the nominal-capacity basis, those currents are 2.5A and 0.25A. The specified maximum charge current is 1C, or 5A, and is marked “not for cycle.” The permitted charging temperature range is 0–50°C.
DMEGC specifies a discharge operating range of −20 to 60°C and AC internal resistance below 30mΩ, with impedance measured at 1kHz. In its temperature-performance test, discharge at −10°C delivers at least 80% of the 25°C reference capacity under the stated 1C procedure. Charging above 0.2C below 15°C or above 40°C may affect cycle life.
Under the specified 25±2°C procedures, capacity retention is at least 80% after 800 cycles with 1C discharge, or after 300 cycles with 2C discharge. Both tests use standard 0.5C charging and discharge to 2.75V, but their rest periods differ. These results describe the stated laboratory conditions; DMEGC does not ensure the same cycle life under other operating conditions.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom pack integration for suitable portable equipment and other projects following application review. A finished pack needs appropriate BMS protection, current limiting, welded interconnects, insulation and thermal design. Follow DMEGC’s bottom-terminal welding exclusion and do not solder directly to the cell. Request CE, UN38.3, RoHS or UL documentation applicable to the specific product and shipment; this listing does not assert those certifications.
