The LG Energy Solution INR21700M58T is an industrial cylindrical lithium-ion cell described in a Rev.3 promotion specification for LEV (e-bike) battery packs. The document specifies 3.59V nominal voltage and at least 20.0Wh initial energy under its standard test. It is intended for integration into a protected pack by qualified, authorized organizations. Final selection and pack settings require LG Energy Solution's current approved specification.
The promotion specification gives a minimum initial energy of 20.0Wh after formation, measured with 1.12A charging to 4.20V and 1.12A discharge to 2.50V at 25°C. It does not give a nominal capacity figure for an mAh-based listing title. Energy available in a finished pack depends on operating conditions.
The specified diameter range is 21.30–21.80mm and the height range is 70.50–71.00mm. Weight with tube and washer is 71.2 ± 1.0g. Engineers should use the stated dimensional limits when planning cell holders, electrical connections, insulation and enclosure clearance, then verify the final drawing in the approved specification.
For complete full discharge, maximum current varies by ambient temperature: 9A from −20 to 0°C, 12.5A from 0 to 35°C, 10A from 35 to 45°C, and 7.5A from 45 to 60°C. These limits require pack-level current control, temperature monitoring and derating.
Standard charge uses 1.12A to 4.20V with a 112mA cut-off at 25°C. For complete full charge, the listed maximum is 1.12A at 0–10°C ambient and 2.7A at 10–45°C ambient. The charger and protection circuit must apply current limits appropriate to the measured temperature.
Initial AC impedance is specified at no more than 15mΩ at 1kHz after standard charge. A separate initial DC impedance limit of 20mΩ applies at 50% state of charge under the document's stated load sequence. These measurements use different methods and should remain distinct when comparing candidate cells.
The stated cycle-life test uses 2.7A charging and 7.5A discharge at 25°C, with specified rest and temperature conditions. After 500 cycles, recovered energy is at least 80% of the 20.0Wh reference. This result is tied to that test method and does not promise the same life at maximum discharge current.
Qualified e-bike pack integration: MisenBattery can discuss cell sourcing and custom LEV battery pack integration with eligible battery packers, OEMs and systems integrators, subject to LG Energy Solution's authorization and current specification. The cell must remain inside a properly protected pack with suitable BMS functions, fusing, voltage and temperature monitoring, insulation, welded connections and thermal design. It is not a stand-alone consumer battery. Confirm the applicable product and shipment documentation before making certification claims.
