The Lishen LR2170SD is a 21700 cylindrical lithium-ion cell specified for consumer electronics. Its nominal capacity is 5000mAh, minimum capacity is 4900mAh, and nominal voltage is 3.6V. Charge and discharge current ceilings depend on temperature: maximum discharge is 4.8A from −20 to 5°C and 7.2A above 5 to 50°C. MisenBattery supplies the Lishen cell and supports custom battery pack integration with suitable cell matching, protection and thermal management.
Lishen specifies 5000mAh nominal capacity and 4900mAh minimum capacity after standard charging and a 0.2C discharge to 2.50V. At 3.60V nominal voltage, these correspond to approximately 18.0Wh and 17.64Wh respectively, calculated from the stated capacities. Keep the capacity grades distinct when planning pack cell count and runtime, and confirm the delivered energy under the intended operating load.
The LR2170SD is a cylindrical lithium-ion cell with a specified diameter of 21.7 ± 0.2mm and height of 70.9 ± 0.2mm. Lishen lists an average mass of 73 ± 4g. These tolerances help size cell holders, insulation, enclosure clearances and contact geometry. Incoming inspection and matched cell selection remain important when integrating many cells into one protected battery pack.
The maximum discharge current is 4.8A from −20 to 5°C and 7.2A above 5 to 50°C. The specification also reports a separate 2C discharge capacity test at 25°C; that test does not raise the stated operating maximum. Pack protection should limit current in the appropriate temperature band and stop discharge if the cell surface exceeds 70°C, as required in Lishen’s pack design guidance.
At 25±2°C, the standard method charges at 0.96A constant current to 4.20V, then holds that voltage until current reaches 96mA. Maximum charging current is 1.44A at 0–10°C, 2.40A above 10–20°C, and 3.36A above 20–45°C. A compatible charger and BMS should enforce these temperature-dependent limits and stop charging outside the specified 0–45°C range.
Lishen states at least 80% of initial capacity after 500 cycles at 25±2°C, using 0.3C charging and 1C discharge between 4.20V and 2.50V with the specified rest periods. Its AC resistance limit is 30mΩ at 1kHz under the 25°C test method. Cycling at elevated temperature, voltage or rate can shorten service life; use the stated test conditions when comparing cells.
The specification says the cell ships at about 30% state of charge, with delivery SOC subject to self-discharge. For long-term storage, it calls for 25–35% SOC in dry conditions and limits storage time by temperature: up to 12 months at −20 to 20°C in the shipping state. Check cell voltage before use and keep storage and handling conditions within Lishen’s stated guidance.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies Lishen LR2170SD bare cells and supports protected packs for portable consumer electronics and other applications after suitability testing. Specify a compatible BMS or PCM, fuse, thermistor, cell matching, insulation, mechanical retention and thermal design. Lishen instructs pack builders to use spot-welded interconnects instead of soldering or ultrasonic welding directly to the cell. Request applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS or UL documentation for the exact cell, pack and shipment scope; no certification is claimed here.
