BAK N21700CG-50 is a rechargeable 21700 cylindrical lithium-ion cell with 5000 mAh nominal capacity and 3.60 V nominal voltage. The supplied A/01 specification defines standard charging, discharge limits and two separate cycle-life test profiles. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom battery pack evaluation, with cell selection based on the intended load, enclosure, operating temperature and protection requirements. Maximum-current figures retain the manufacturer’s restriction concerning cycle life.
BAK specifies 5000 mAh nominal capacity and 4900 mAh minimum capacity under standard charge and discharge conditions at 25 ± 2°C. Nominal voltage is 3.60 V, giving approximately 18.0 Wh of calculated nominal energy per cell. These values support preliminary pack sizing, with usable energy evaluated against the actual load and voltage limits.
Standard charging uses 2.5 A constant current to 4.20 V, followed by constant voltage until the current reaches 50 mA, at 25 ± 2°C. Standard discharge uses 1 A to 2.50 V. Keeping these conditions attached to capacity comparisons helps purchasing and engineering teams evaluate cells against a consistent reference procedure.
The specification lists maximum charging at 1C, equivalent to 5 A, and maximum discharge at 3C, equivalent to 15 A, at 25°C. Both maxima are marked “not for cycle life.” Pack operating currents therefore require validation against thermal behavior and service-life targets. The supplied document does not define a pulse-current rating.
The first profile requires at least 80% capacity at the 801st cycle using 2.5 A charging to 4.20 V with 50 mA termination and 5 A discharge to 2.75 V. The second requires at least 80% at the 1001st cycle using 4.15 V, 250 mA termination and 3.00 V discharge cut-off. Both use 25 ± 2°C.
The sleeved cell has a maximum diameter of 21.40 mm, maximum height of 70.75 mm and maximum weight of 70 g. AC impedance is limited to 30 mΩ at 1000 Hz. These specifications support enclosure planning and incoming inspection, with cell holders, terminal insulation, interconnects and assembly tolerances verified for the finished pack.
Charging is specified from 0 to 45°C and discharging from −20 to 60°C. Section 8 limits storage to less than one month at −20 to 60°C, three months at −20 to 45°C and one year at −20 to 25°C. Humidity must remain within 0–60% RH without condensation, with long-term storage voltage at 3.50–3.80 V.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies BAK N21700CG-50 cells and supports custom pack integration for equipment projects subject to application validation. Provide a compatible BMS, fuse protection, voltage and temperature sensing, a validated welding and interconnect process, terminal insulation, cell spacing, and suitable thermal and mechanical design. The datasheet prohibits direct soldering to the cell. Confirm applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation for the specific cell, pack and shipment; certification status is not established by this specification.
