The TENPOWER INR21700-50SG is a rechargeable 21700 lithium-ion cell combining 5000mAh nominal capacity with a maximum continuous discharge current of 20A. Its 3.6V nominal voltage corresponds to approximately 18Wh of calculated nominal energy per cell. Manufactured by Huaian Tenpower Lithium Co., Ltd., it provides documented charging, impedance and cycle-test specifications for engineering evaluation. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom battery pack integration based on application requirements.
The cell provides 5000mAh nominal capacity and 4900mAh minimum capacity under the specified 1A discharge test to 2.5V. At 3.6V nominal voltage, calculated nominal energy is approximately 18Wh. These figures support preliminary pack sizing, while usable system energy depends on current demand, temperature, voltage limits and pack-level losses.
TENPOWER specifies a maximum continuous discharge current of 20A, providing a defined limit for evaluating applications with sustained current demand. This is a continuous rating, not a pulse-current claim. Pack designers must select appropriate interconnects and protection components and keep cell surface temperature within the specified discharge operating range.
Standard charging uses 2.5A constant current followed by constant voltage at 4.20V, terminating when current falls to 100mA. Maximum charge current is 6A. These separate ratings help match the cell to a suitable charger and BMS. Charging must remain within the specified cell surface-temperature range of 0°C to 45°C.
Internal impedance is specified at no more than 14mΩ when measured with a 1kHz AC method at 25 ± 3°C. This provides a documented reference for incoming cell inspection alongside voltage and visual checks. The value is AC impedance and should not be presented as DC resistance or used alone to predict pack heating.
The datasheet specifies at least 70% of first-cycle discharge capacity after 500 cycles at 25 ± 3°C. Testing uses 6A CC-CV charging to 4.20V with 100mA termination, a 15-minute rest, then 20A discharge to 2.5V or a 75°C test cutoff, followed by a 30-minute rest. Actual service life depends on operating and storage conditions.
The V0.2 specification defines a maximum diameter of 21.35mm and maximum height of 70.60mm, including the heat-shrink sleeve, with cell weight limited to 71.0g. These dimensions support holder and enclosure planning. Battery pack assembly should use spot-welded connections, adequate insulation and mechanical support, with no direct soldering onto the cell.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies TENPOWER INR21700-50SG cells and supports custom pack integration for projects such as portable equipment, industrial devices and light electric mobility, subject to engineering validation. Pack design should include a compatible BMS, fuses, voltage and temperature sensing, spot-welded interconnects, insulation, cell spacing and suitable thermal and mechanical protection. Confirm applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation availability and scope for the exact cell, assembled pack and shipment; the supplied datasheet does not establish these certifications.
