INR21700-40EBX is a rechargeable 21700 lithium-ion cell with 4000 mAh nominal and minimum capacity, 3.6 V nominal voltage and approximately 14.4 Wh of calculated nominal energy. The A/07 specification defines temperature-dependent continuous currents, capacity acceptance conditions and a cycle test profile. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom battery pack evaluation using the applicable electrical limits, enclosure dimensions, protection settings and thermal requirements for each project.
The specification lists both nominal and minimum capacity at 4000 mAh. Capacity acceptance uses 2 A CC-CV charging to 4.2 V with 80 mA termination, followed by 0.8 A discharge to 2.75 V. These defined conditions support consistent purchasing comparisons and incoming inspection, with the general test temperature specified as 25 ± 2°C.
Maximum continuous discharge is 12 A at cell surface temperatures from 0°C to below 35°C. The limit reduces to 8 A from 35°C to below 45°C and 4 A from 45°C to below 70°C or from −20°C to below 0°C. Apply these limits together with the −20 to 60°C ambient discharge range.
Standard charging uses 2 A CC-CV to 4.2 V with 80 mA termination. Maximum continuous charge is 4 A only at surface temperatures from 15°C to below 45°C, reducing to 2 A at 5–15°C and 45–60°C, with upper endpoints excluded, and 0.4 A at 0–5°C, excluding 5°C. Ambient charging remains limited to 0–45°C.
The source specifies at least 90% first-cycle capacity at cycle 500 OR at least 80% at cycle 1000. Testing uses 2 A charge and 4 A discharge over 4.2–2.75 V at room temperature, with 400 mA charge termination and 15-minute rests after charging and discharging. Retain this protocol when comparing cycle performance.
Diameter is 21.65 ± 0.2 mm and height is 70.95 ± 0.2 mm, with a maximum weight of 71 g. AC impedance is limited to 19 mΩ at 1000 Hz. These specifications support enclosure and inspection planning, with dimensional tolerances, terminal insulation, cell holders and welding access verified before pack assembly.
Storage is specified at −20 to +40°C for less than three months, or −20 to +20°C for three to twelve months, in dry conditions with 0–50% RH. Long-term storage voltage is 3.5–3.7 V. FEB recommends validated resistance or laser welding and temperature balancing so the internal cell temperature difference during discharge remains within 5°C.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies FEB cells and supports custom pack evaluation for industrial equipment and portable power projects, subject to application validation. Provide a compatible BMS, fuse protection, voltage and temperature sensing, validated resistance-welding or laser-welding processes, terminal insulation, cell spacing and suitable thermal and mechanical design. Direct soldering is prohibited. Confirm applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation for the specific cell, pack and shipment; certification status is not established by the supplied specification alone.
