The BAK INR4680-280B is a 4680-format rechargeable lithium-ion cell combining 28Ah nominal capacity, 100.8Wh nominal energy and a tabless current-collection structure. Reference performance data indicates up to 4C charge and discharge capability, rapid charging from 10% to 80% SOC and more than 1,000 cycles under defined conditions. Pack-level thermal management, monitoring and current control are essential when applying these limits.
With a 3.6V nominal voltage and 28Ah nominal capacity, the cell provides 100.8Wh of calculated nominal energy. The reference data also lists more than 270Wh/kg gravimetric energy density and more than 731Wh/L volumetric energy density under C/3 discharge at 25°C and 100% depth of discharge.
The 4680 cylindrical format is approximately 46mm in diameter and 80mm in height. Its tabless current-collection design is intended to shorten internal current paths, reduce resistance and support more uniform current distribution. Final pack tooling must use the manufacturer-controlled dimensional drawing, terminal specification and permitted welding process rather than nominal form-factor dimensions alone.
Maximum charge and discharge rates are listed as 4C, equivalent to 112A when calculated from the 28Ah capacity. These figures require qualified system limits and thermal control and are not presented as unconditional continuous ratings. The BMS should reduce current according to temperature, voltage, SOC and the validated operating map for the production cell.
Fast charging from 10% to 80% SOC is listed at approximately 15 minutes under specified fast-charge and thermal-management conditions. A 4.20V upper voltage limit is used in the reference cycle window. Charger output, cooling capacity, cell temperature sensing and SOC estimation must all be validated before this charging claim is applied to a finished battery pack.
Reference DC internal resistance is 3mΩ at 25°C and 50% SOC using a 1C, 10-second test. The tabless structure is intended to support high-current operation and controlled thermal behavior, but actual resistance and temperature rise depend on the production lot, terminal joints, busbar design, cooling path and measurement method used by the integrator.
Cycle life is listed at more than 1,000 cycles under 1C cycling between 2.75V and 4.20V at 25°C, measured to 80% state of health. This is a condition-specific reference rather than a universal service-life guarantee. Real results depend on charge rate, discharge profile, depth of discharge, temperature, SOC storage window and pack balancing.
Custom battery pack applications: Potential engineered applications include high-power electric mobility, industrial vehicles, robotics and custom energy-storage systems after confirmation of the manufacturer-controlled operating limits. Misenpower supplies battery cells and supports pack integration involving BMS programming, fuses, welded interconnects, voltage and temperature sensing, insulation, cell spacing, mechanical retention and liquid or forced-air cooling. Applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation must be verified for the selected production cell, shipment and completed battery pack.
