The BYD FC4680 is a large-format rechargeable cylindrical lithium-ion cell with a 3.2V nominal voltage, 15,000mAh typical capacity and approximately 48Wh nominal energy. Designed around 1C maximum continuous charge and discharge, it combines practical current capability with a documented 4,000-cycle retention target. Its compact 46mm-class format supports professionally engineered mobility, industrial and energy-storage battery assemblies where long service life and modular integration are priorities.
The FC4680 provides 15,000mAh typical capacity and 14,700mAh minimum capacity when charged at 0.5C and discharged at 0.2C. Based on the 3.2V nominal voltage and typical capacity, nominal energy is approximately 48Wh. This makes the cell suitable for pack architectures that need meaningful energy from fewer parallel cells.
The structure drawing specifies a 46.3 ± 0.25mm diameter and 80.2 ± 0.3mm height, while the shipment envelope is limited to 46.55mm by 80.50mm maximum. Maximum cell weight is 335g. These dimensions help engineers establish holders, busbars, insulation clearances and enclosure geometry before validating a production batch.
Maximum continuous charge and discharge are both specified at 1C at room temperature, equivalent to approximately 15A when based on typical capacity. The standard discharge rate is 0.2C. The datasheet also records at least 92% of minimum capacity during a 2C discharge test, but 2C is not identified as a continuous operating rating.
Standard charging uses 0.5C constant current to 3.65V, followed by constant-voltage charging until current falls to 0.05C. The allowable rate is temperature dependent: up to 0.1C at 0–5°C, 0.3C at 5–10°C, 1C at 10–45°C and 0.5C at 45–55°C. These limits should be programmed into the BMS.
The initial AC internal resistance is specified at no more than 8mΩ at 1kHz. Discharge operation is permitted from −20°C to 60°C, with the controlled test retaining at least 60% of minimum capacity at −20°C and at least 90% at 60°C. Actual pack performance also depends on connection resistance and thermal design.
Cycle testing uses 0.5C charging and 0.5C discharging at room temperature, with a 3.65V charge limit and 2.5V cycle-test discharge cutoff. After 4,000 cycles, capacity retention is specified above 70% of minimum capacity. Real service life varies with temperature, depth of discharge, current, storage SOC, cell consistency and pack-level controls.
Custom battery pack applications: Suitable engineered uses may include low-speed electric mobility, industrial equipment, robotics, backup-power modules and energy-storage systems. Misenpower supplies genuine battery cells and supports custom pack integration, including BMS configuration, fuses, welded interconnects, voltage and temperature sensing, insulation, cell spacing, mechanical retention and thermal management. Applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation must be confirmed for the selected production batch, shipment method and completed battery pack.
