The CATL MFH3L8 is a high-power 46135 cylindrical LiFePO4 cell with a 3.22V nominal voltage, 25Ah standard capacity and approximately 80.5Wh of energy. It supports up to 3C continuous discharge and a defined 5C, 30-second pulse under specified temperature conditions. Its low resistance, wide operating-temperature range and long-cycle design make it suitable for professionally engineered mobility, industrial and energy-storage battery systems.
The cell delivers a 25Ah standard capacity at 1/3C and a minimum capacity of 24.5Ah at 0.5C under specified 25°C test conditions. Its 3.22V nominal voltage provides approximately 80.5Wh per cell, supporting compact series-parallel configurations for high-capacity battery modules while retaining the safety characteristics associated with lithium iron phosphate chemistry.
A maximum continuous discharge rate of 3C provides up to 75A when cell temperature remains below 50°C. For short-duration power demand, the specification defines a maximum 5C discharge current of 125A for up to 30 seconds under the same temperature restriction. Pack controls must prevent operation beyond these current, time and temperature limits.
Standard charging uses 0.5C constant current to 3.65V, followed by constant-voltage charging until current falls to 0.05C. The cell supports up to 2C continuous charging only at 25±2°C and at no more than 60% SOC. Lower temperatures and higher SOC levels require reduced charge current according to the manufacturer’s control table.
New cells are specified with a 1kHz AC internal resistance of 0.98±0.2mΩ at 25°C and 50% SOC. This low-resistance design supports efficient current delivery and helps limit voltage drop during demanding operation. Final module performance still depends on cell matching, busbar resistance, joining quality, cooling efficiency and the operating SOC and temperature range.
The specified operating range extends from -20°C to 65°C for charging and from -30°C to 65°C for discharging, with temperature-dependent limits. At 0°C, -10°C and -20°C, the cell retains at least 80%, 60% and 50% capacity respectively under the defined 0.5C test. A temperature-aware BMS is essential for safe charging.
Under 0.5C charge and discharge testing, the sample specification lists at least 3,000 cycles at 25°C and at least 2,000 cycles at 45°C while retaining more than 70% capacity. Actual service life depends on the operating voltage window, depth of discharge, charge rate, temperature control, cell consistency and pack-level mechanical and electrical design.
Custom battery pack applications: The CATL MFH3L8 46135 cell may be evaluated for electric motorcycles, electric three-wheelers, low-speed electric vehicles, industrial vehicles and stationary energy-storage modules. Misenpower supplies battery cells and supports custom pack integration with a matched BMS, fuse protection, welded interconnects, voltage and temperature sensing, electrical insulation, cell spacing, thermal management and mechanical restraint. Supporting CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation must be verified for the applicable cell batch, shipment and completed battery pack.
