The LG Chem INR18650 MH1 is a rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion cell combining 3200mAh nominal capacity with a manufacturer-specified maximum discharge current of 10A. Its 3.63V nominal voltage, compact cylindrical format and balanced energy-to-current characteristics make it suitable for professionally engineered battery packs used in light mobility, portable equipment and compact energy-storage systems. This bare industrial cell must be integrated with appropriate electrical, thermal and mechanical protection.
The MH1 provides 3200mAh nominal and 3100mAh minimum capacity under the manufacturer’s standard charge and discharge conditions. At its 3.63V average voltage, the nominal rating corresponds to approximately 11.62Wh per cell, supporting compact battery designs where usable runtime and cylindrical-cell packaging efficiency are important.
Its cylindrical 18650 construction supports established cell holders, welded busbar layouts and modular series-parallel battery architectures. The datasheet lists a diameter of 18.39−0.11mm, a height of 65.15mm and an approximate maximum weight of 49g. Pack clearances should still be validated against the supplied production batch.
LG Chem specifies a maximum discharge current of 10A, giving the MH1 useful current capability alongside its energy-oriented capacity. The datasheet does not define a separate pulse rating or pulse duration, so pack designers should treat 10A as the published maximum limit and apply suitable current derating for temperature, ageing and pack geometry.
Standard charging uses a 1550mA constant current followed by constant-voltage charging at 4.20V, terminating when current falls to 50mA. The published maximum charge current is 3100mA. A pack charger and BMS must enforce the correct voltage, current, temperature and termination limits for every parallel cell group.
The specification lists an initial AC impedance value of 40mΩ without PTC when measured at 1kHz after standard charging. Approved operation covers charging from 0°C to 45°C and discharging from −20°C to 60°C. Practical pack current should be reduced when cell or ambient temperatures approach these limits.
The flat-top MH1 is intended for professional assembly rather than direct consumer use. LG Chem’s handling instructions prohibit direct soldering, mixed old and new cells, reverse connection and operation outside specified limits. Cells should be matched, insulated and joined using validated resistance-welding processes inside a protected battery assembly.
Custom battery pack applications: Suitable applications can include light electric mobility, portable instruments, compact backup power, professional equipment and custom energy-storage modules when current and thermal requirements are properly validated. MisenBattery supplies LG Chem cells and supports custom pack integration with a matched BMS, branch or pack fuse, welded interconnects, voltage and temperature sensing, cell insulation, safe spacing, and appropriate thermal and mechanical design. Supporting CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation can be provided for the applicable product and shipment.
