The FEB 21700-50A is a 3.6V, 5000mAh cylindrical lithium-ion cell engineered for protected battery packs operating across demanding temperature conditions. It supports ambient discharge down to −40°C, temperature-dependent maximum continuous discharge up to 15A and documented 1000-cycle performance. Its combination of cold-weather capability, useful energy and controlled impedance suits qualified industrial and mobility pack development.
FEB specifies both nominal and receiving-standard minimum capacity at 5000mAh under the stated 0.2C capacity test. With a 3.60V nominal voltage, this corresponds to approximately 18Wh of calculated energy per cell, supporting battery assemblies that require useful runtime alongside cold-weather operation and moderate power capability.
The low-temperature qualification reports at least 60% discharge efficiency at −40°C after a 24-hour temperature soak. This specific test uses a reduced 0.2C current of 1A and a 2.0V test cut-off. It should not be interpreted as full-capacity, full-current operation at −40°C or as the standard pack cut-off voltage.
Maximum continuous discharge reaches 15A when cell-surface temperature is between 15°C and 35°C. Lower current limits apply outside this range, including 5A at −20°C to 0°C and 1A at −40°C to −30°C. The 15A limit is not intended for cycle-life operation and requires BMS-controlled derating.
The permitted ambient charging range extends to −10°C, with temperature-dependent current limits. Below 5°C, maximum continuous charge is reduced to 0.1C or 0.5A. Standard charging uses a 2.5A CC-CV profile to 4.20V with a 100mA termination current, requiring accurate cell-temperature sensing and charge-current control.
Cycle testing specifies at least 70% of first-cycle discharge capacity after 1000 cycles. The test uses 0.5C charging, 1C discharging, a 4.20–2.75V voltage window, 500mA charge termination and 15-minute rests after charge and discharge. Actual service life depends on temperature, current, SOC window and pack thermal control.
The cell measures 21.65 ± 0.2mm in diameter and 70.95 ± 0.2mm in height, weighs no more than 73g and has AC resistance of no more than 19mΩ at 1kHz. FEB also specifies same-grade, same-batch grouping, thermal balancing and resistance or laser-welded connections for pack assembly.
Custom battery pack applications: Following cold-temperature and load-profile validation, the FEB 21700-50A can support outdoor instruments, cold-chain equipment, winter mobility systems, industrial backup power and low-temperature portable power packs. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom pack integration with a matched BMS, series fuse protection, welded interconnects, cell-level voltage and temperature sensing, insulation, controlled spacing, thermal management and mechanical restraint. The cell must not be used as an unprotected standalone battery. Supporting CE, UN38.3, RoHS and UL documentation can be provided when available for the applicable cell, completed pack and shipment.
