The ND21700-5000mAh is a rechargeable cylindrical lithium-ion cell manufactured by Guangdong Norda Smart Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Its specified nominal voltage is 3.7V, with 5000mAh nominal and 4900mAh minimum capacity under the stated 0.2C test conditions. The datasheet provides temperature-dependent charging and discharge limits for engineers designing custom battery packs. MisenBattery can supply the cell and support pack integration after the intended load, enclosure, thermal conditions and protection requirements have been checked.
The cell has a specified 5000mAh nominal capacity and 4900mAh minimum capacity at 0.2C. The minimum-capacity test discharges a charged cell from 4.2V to 2.5V. These figures allow designers to distinguish the marketed capacity from the minimum specified result when estimating usable pack capacity and setting acceptance criteria.
With a specified diameter of 21.7 ± 0.3mm and height of 70.5 ± 0.3mm, this cylindrical cell is suited to designs built around its actual dimensional envelope. At 3.7V and 5.0Ah nominal, its calculated nominal energy is approximately 18.5Wh per cell. Allowances for interconnects, insulation and mechanical tolerances remain necessary in a finished pack.
Maximum continuous discharge is 2C, equivalent to 10A, at cell temperatures of 0°C or above. The specified limit falls to 2.5A from −10°C to below 0°C and 1A from −20°C to below −10°C. The datasheet separately lists 3C instantaneous discharge without a duration, so pack designs should not treat it as a timed pulse rating.
The standard method charges at 0.2C, or 1A, to 4.2V, then holds 4.2V until current reaches 0.01C. Maximum charge current is 2.5A at 10°C or above and 1A from 0°C to below 10°C. Charging is specified only from 0°C to 45°C, making temperature sensing and charge control essential pack-design inputs.
The specified AC internal resistance is no more than 23mΩ when measured at 1000Hz. In the manufacturer's normal-temperature discharge test, capacity at 2C must reach at least 90% of nominal capacity under the stated procedure. These are defined test figures; real pack voltage drop and heat generation also depend on interconnects, cooling, current profile and operating temperature.
After 500 cycles of 0.5C charging and 2C discharging at 25 ± 2°C, the datasheet specifies capacity of at least 80% of nominal. This is a test-condition result rather than a guarantee for every operating profile. Cell selection should account for the planned depth of discharge, ambient conditions, charging strategy and the service life required of the finished pack.
Custom battery pack applications: This cell may be evaluated for appropriately engineered portable equipment or other custom 21700 battery packs after load and environmental requirements are confirmed. MisenBattery supplies cells and supports custom pack integration, including a compatible BMS, fuse protection, welded interconnects, temperature sensing, insulation and thermal and mechanical design. Do not solder directly to the cell. Request applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS or UL documentation for the specific product and shipment; the supplied specification does not establish those approvals.
