The BAK INR2170-45D is a full-tab 2170 cylindrical lithium-ion cell for pack designs that need a compact balance of energy and discharge capability. BAK lists 4500mAh typical and 4400mAh rated capacity at 0.2C, with 3.6V nominal voltage. Its maximum discharge rating is 30A without a temperature cutoff; 60A operation requires an 80°C cell-surface cutoff. MisenBattery supplies the cell and supports application-specific battery pack integration subject to electrical and thermal validation.
At a 0.2C capacity test rate, BAK specifies 4500mAh typical and 4400mAh rated for the INR2170-45D. At its 3.6V nominal voltage, those figures correspond to approximately 16.2Wh typical and 15.84Wh rated energy per cell. Keep the two capacity grades separate when estimating pack energy, runtime, and cell count for a custom battery system.
The INR2170-45D uses a full-tab cylindrical design in the 2170 format. BAK lists a maximum diameter of 21.45mm and a maximum height of 70.75mm, both measured with the sleeve, and a cell weight of no more than 69g. These limits help mechanical designers size holders, busbars, enclosures, insulation, and cooling paths around the actual sleeved cell.
The report specifies 30A maximum discharge without a temperature cutoff. It also lists 60A when discharge is stopped at an 80°C cell-surface temperature. That 60A figure has no stated pulse duration and must not be treated as an unrestricted continuous rating. In BAK’s 25±2°C tests, the 80°C cutoff reduced delivered capacity at 60A, so pack designers should verify usable energy under the actual load.
BAK lists 2.2A as the standard charging current and 13.2A as the maximum. The standard test charges at 2.2A constant current to 4.2V, then holds 4.2V until current reaches 100mA. A pack charger should enforce cell voltage and temperature limits, and any faster charge profile should be validated for temperature rise, balance, cycle life, and the intended operating environment.
The tentative specification lists AC internal resistance of no more than 5mΩ at 1kHz, 30% state of charge and 25±2°C. It recommends cell-surface temperatures of 0 to 55°C for charging and −20 to 80°C for discharging. These are cell-surface ranges, so a pack needs cell temperature sensing and control; ambient temperature alone cannot establish that every cell remains within its limits.
BAK’s technical report includes rate charge, rate discharge, low-temperature discharge, cycle tests, storage data, and sample-level safety test results. Its cycle plots use different charge and discharge currents and do not state one guaranteed cycle-life figure, so this listing makes no cycle-life claim. Engineers can use the reported methods to plan sample qualification and request current production documentation before finalizing a pack design.
Custom battery pack applications: MisenBattery supplies BAK INR2170-45D bare cells and supports custom packs for power tools, portable equipment, mobility and industrial systems where system-level validation confirms suitability. Specify a compatible BMS, fusing, cell-level temperature sensing, welded interconnects, insulation, and thermal and mechanical support. Request applicable CE, UN38.3, RoHS or UL documentation for the specific cell, pack and shipment scope; the report’s safety test results are not a certification claim.
